That flash drive that you linked would be big enough yes :) |

I wouldn't recommend installing CS6 or any other major application on a pen drive, it would most likely take away a lot of speed because the pen drive won't be able to give it's data to your computer.. Also do you mean the entire CS6 pack or just certain applications? just after effects and premier 1
Then it would take up ~7 gigs and I'd recommend a 16 Gig pen drive (probably will get really close to the 8 Gig mark and it's useful to have extra space) but I still don't recommend running it from a pen drive due to the lack of speed.. would this be big enough? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9093290.htm |

like the other answer said, they are all big programs. I would say don't do it off of a pendrive, but if you have to, I'd say 8-16 gigs. I know, that may be a bit too much, but both after effects and premier are big programs. I hope this help is this big enough? http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9093290.htm @theboredgamer: No personal links in the questions. Thank you. |

8-16 GB should be enough but keep in mind that it will likely run much slower than having it on a HDD. The problem with flash drives even if you have a fast one that can read at 50-80MB/s, they are unable to handle multiple request (they are optimized for single read or write at a time. (if you start 2 transfers, you will likely lose 80%+ of your overall throughput) Photoshop is also heavily DRM filled and thus you might not be able to run it on multiple systems (defeating the purpose) (many DRM free applications that are not heavily registry dependent will run from almost any location including flash drives, (DVD's (I have been able to simply copy the install folder of a game (DRM free ;) ) and copy it to a DVD and launch the game from DVD. I have also been able to run games and apps from network folders, flash drives, SD cards, and even over a VPN over the WAN in order to connect to a network folder and run an application remotely. Non DRM applications are extremely flexible and can literally run from almost anything that will store them. Apps with DRM will run checks to make sure that nothing was changed from the DRM approved install |

After Effects and Premiere take up 1.5GB of space for me. But putting these programs on a USB is not a good idea. If you thinking that these are portable apps they are not. Though there are methods of doing so. |
