I want to start vlogging and making videos, but want a good camera first. I can spend about $400. What cameras do you think would be good? Do you know of any sites (sorry if I can't ask this) that sell good and cheap cameras. or any discount codes?

Thanks, Matthew B.

For your price range, the canon HF m500 will work well http://www.amazon.com/Canon-VIXIA-Image-Stabilized-Camcorder/dp/B006UMMPGE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1358948979&sr=8-1&keywords=canon+camcorder

But really, at $400, you are better off saving an extra $100 or so and just jumping right to a DSLR which will offer significantly better video quality (and changeable lenses, and more control over depth of field and other aspects of th image, allowing you to get a more professional and cinematic look.

You also get the option to add anamorphic lenses and adapters in case you do not want to shoot in 16:9 but still want to retain as much of the sensor resolution as possible.
