Soon, I hope to be parting ways with my iPad, and saying hello to the Nexus 10. I recently heard that due to the updates on the DMCA exemptions that rooting/jailbreaking tablets is illegal. I knew that jailbreaking is illegal, but I didn't know that rooting was. I really want the Nexus 10 and I want to be able to flash roms and such. What are the legal implications of rooting a tablet? Can I legally root a tablet? |

Look here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/10/27/jailbreaking-tablets-illegal_n_2024754.html, this article says it's illegal, but I originally thought it applied to iPad only, but it's been brought to my attention that it applies to other tabs as well, what are the implications if you do root/jailbreak (not to be redundant) ;) I've jailbroken pre-illegal state, however, I really want to root and use the full potential of the Nexus 10. I don't want the iPad anymore because it's so locked down in terms of tweak-ability.
humm... to be honest i have not heard of that until now. I guess it goes to show you how messed up the copyright laws are now. which where never originally developed for this time period.
Yeah, especially considering their ruling is COMPLETELY unenforcable lol. I (for the most part anyway) try to be law-abiding, that's partially why I was wondering.
