AMD 8 core 'Bulldozer" shy at stock speed, but shines when OCed?!

Reports say that this CPU is a good but all in all, but is a bit shy to the 2500 i5. Overclockers claim that the Bulldozer easily surpasses the i5, and even the famed i7 in some cases after overclocking, setting the base speed to 4 from 3.6, and buffing the first 4 cores a bit higher than the other 4.

Anyone have this chip, anyone's opinions?
