Every night for the last 4/5 days my internet has stopped working at around 8PM (GMT) and doesn't work until the following morning. This has never happened in the past. It's gone 8 now and it's just stopped, it's starting to get quite annoying now.
There are no errors coming up when I go check my connection in network preferences and it says my connection is normal but I can't load any pages at all. Luckily I can tether my phone and use the Mobile AP feature which is just as quick but I'd still rather use my home connection. Any ideas anyone? Please note I'm on mac not windows if this helps.

If that was happening to me at night. I would be diagnosing the living daylights out from it. Anywhere from imply unplugging and re-plugging the modem power supply for it. Like Tim fontana has mentioned what lights on the dsl modem or cable modem that your using are any of them flashing or not on. Have you gone through the router to see if your getting an IP address on the modem if you have a router hooked up to it. Is your ISP experiencing some type of connection problem from the central office to your area. Is it possible that there is a problem from the where you are branched from their side. Is it the cabling outside leading into where you have the computer set up. Is it possible that that the modem might be going wonky on you.
You might have to call this one in to see what is going on and have them do some tests with them to find out what is going on with the connection at that time when it goes out. It is also hard to find out what modem that your using. if it is an ADSL/+2 or a cable modem that your using for the internet connection. Please give us as much information as you can please it will help in order to elp out in diagnosing the problem.

The first thing that I suggest you do is to contact your ISP. See if anything is happening on their end. once you have established this, then you should look into some settings.
When the internet goes off, check the DSL/Internet light, what's the status of this?
Secondly, is there any form of shut down on the router? This may be causing the internet to go off at a set time

Most ISPs have a number you can call for technical assistance. It's usually automated but gives the option of speaking with a technician. There's usually a heads up on your ISPs web page or maybe on your previous bill if they're going to be doing maintenance or upgrades.

You could be infected with the DNSChanger malware. It is expected that many users will lose their internet connectivity these days. You can read the full story about this here. Also most importantly, watch the embedded video in that article for how to get your connectivity back =)
