What is a nano SIM card?I know that there is a nano SIM card in my iPhone 5 that I bought yesterday but I don't know what it is.I know that you need one in a phone that or a micro sim but what does it do? I don't know what a micro sim is either.

It is the Subscriber Identity Module... it tells the network who is using the phone... in most phones (that use sims), you can swap your sim from phone to phone (as long as they are compatible) and then use that phone without having to call your phone network to change phones. They can also store contact info and what not on the sim so the info can be moved from phone to phone as well.

That, and your carrier doesn't care what phone that SIM card is in as long as you continue to pay for service.

It does nothing more or less than a Micro SIM. It simply saves space and is more compact and smaller.

iPad 1-3 take MicroSIM and iPad Mini and iPad "4" take NanoSIM.

Yeah just the cellular ipad 4 and mini have nano sims and also the iPhone 5 has one
