What is the difference? I know about them (But I don't know about DVI, so I need help on that too), but I'm still confused about dual and triple monitor displays. Thanks for your help!! |

VGA is an analog signal, DVI is a digital signal, HDMI is also digital but it is best used for uncompressed video and compressed/uncompressed audio. At least that is what I know/learned |

VGA is older and you don't really want to use that if you have DVI or HDMI available. DVI and HDMI are pretty much the same with some minor differences. HDMI is the standard for high definition tv, videos games and even some smart phones have an HDMI out port. DVI is most common on graphics cards and monitors. I'm sure there are more technical differences between the two but it's about the same. My monitor is HDMI from the monitor to DVI on the graphics card so ehh. |

DVI is more or less the standard around video cards these days. Most of them have them built into the card itself even though HDMI is now becoming the standard output for most of the new video cards. VGA outputs are starting to become a rare thing to have on most new video cards. I still have the older video cards. But with DVI and HDMI you can plug them into most of today's computer monitors or hi definition TV's that have these two plugs. The VGA is the older analog standard. The resolution between DVI and HDMI is the only difference. And with HDMI it can carry audio as well if the HD TV and the source are using this connection to send and audio and video through the connection I believe. And here is some more information that I was able to get online with probably a better definition as well for you. Between HDMI and DVI connections. http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/32524/whats-the-difference-between-hdmi-and-dvi-which-is-better/ |
