To prove you're not a spammer, email newuser.lgqa@gmail.com with the subject "Account Request" to request an account.

Simply put, how do you prefer to be notified when a web site or blog is updated?

Three possibilities include:

  1. Sign up a for an email notification
  2. Read via an RSS feed
  3. Monitor a Twitter account

Also, let's put this into the perspective of a site that may send out five or six notifications in one week during a "busy week" and drops during periods of inactivity.

Vote Tally:

  • Monitor an RSS feed - 1 vote
  • EMail notification - 1 vote

That's a yes and no. Yes, I like being alerted, but not the way LockerGnome.Net does it. It's annoying that they alert me when there's a new answer on something I posted an answer on. I don't give a frick if someone posts an answer on this after me. All I care about is being able to post answers, and get messages when I get Karma, or Badges, or if someone answers a question of mine. I don't care when someone posts another answer on something I've already answered. I've never gotten so many annoying, pointless emails in my life. This isn't a competition, and I don't want to go back and re-do my answer if someone else posts and answer so it'll be higher up on the list and be the first thing the poster see's when he looks. I just want to answer, and get alerts when I get points, or someone answers me.

Email notification, because I check my email's very often, so I'll know if anything new has come.

In an email notification, I am thinking of two options:

  1. Full text of each posting
  2. Once a week notification

Do you think this is acceptable or can you think of other possibilities?
