Hello people, In the Netherlands we have a foundation for paying for accessibility needs that people have for their school or job. The UWV, the problem is that I need a laptop and a text-to-speech app and digitalized schoolbooks. This all is because my working pace is relatively slow and I am working all day and all night almost for my school. The further problem is that the foundation talked about earlier will not recoup the notebook I already have because it is to old already do to the fact that the first time we asked them to pay for it they said: “No.” Because I didn’t have a handicap with a real name yet. Now is the choice to only buy the text-to-speech software and the digitalized books and buy a laptop on their behalf in 2 or 3 years or let them buy the software and the laptop now and use one for school and the other one private so that I don’t have to carry it home every day. But the last one makes me doubt because I tried that earlier and it worked terrible but back then we didn’t have cloud integration. Also there is a chance that this foundation might not be there in a few years, so that makes us doubt, and another option is to put this notebook on an ebay-like website and go with the new one but my mother doesn’t want that because she gave me a better notebook than needed because I had worked so hard to get the chance to go to college. So what do you guys think my parents and I should do? By the way I can spend 750 bucks on the potential new notebook if that helps saying: what. Thank you very much if you can help us out.
