So I got a new computer a few days back, and it came with Internet Explorer as the default browser, as expected, and I quickly got FireFox to replace it. Now, I'm not sure if I just unpinned it, or uninstalled it, but I can't seem to find the app version of Windows 8 on my machine anywhere. Only the desktop version. Neither can I find an installer for it, only the desktop version. Is there any way I can get it back? Thanks, ~Joseph |

The only way to use the Metro/Modern UI version of Internet Explorer is to set it to the default browser. They did this because they allow the default browser to have more permissions than other browsers but this also has the potential to be a security risk, so they only allow the default to have access to it. Without these permissions, the Metro/Modern UI Internet Explorer will not be available to the user. Again, the only way to get it back is to set Internet Explorer to be the default browser in the Default Programs section of the Control Panel. |
