The only solutions that I know of will give you about a 1-2 second lag in gameplay, so I don't think you would be interested in what I know (it also costs a few hundred dollars).

I know an iMac will notice that another Mac has been connected to it via Thunderbolt/Mini-Display port and display the secondary Mac on the iMac screen. I wonder if the same can be done with an xbox via the hdmi adapter. This may be what catchatyou was thinking but it won't cost hundreds of dollars so I don't know. I also don't know if there will be lag on the older Mini-Display port.

Good luck!

I have tried a VGA cable in to the iMac but not a HDMI cable. I might give it ago
