I have alot of apps on my iphone 5 but that is not what I need to back up. What I want to back up are all my pictures and I already went over my 5gb cloud. I would put them on my macbook but is not working:( And because I am on a budget I do not have money to buy more cloud space. So my question is, what do i do? Where can I put my photos? Is there a external drive for phones? Thank you for taking the time to look over my, maybe stupid, question.

You have other services like iCloud that are free.

Google Drive - 5GB free

Dropbox - 2GB free

I was looking into it, but I would like more of a permanent solution. Im scared that they are going to get full fast, and then what?

Well if you don't want to buy cloud space then try getting a cheap computer with a 1TB hard drive or something and do your backups to that. Simple and cost effective.

It shouldn't fill up if you're the only one backing up to that account and you only have 1 device. I am using only an iPhone 4S on my iCloud account and I haven't filled it up yet. What I do is turn off photos and videos since it takes up several gigabytes, they're already on Photo Stream, and they've already synced to my Mac via iCloud. And any videos I've shot aren't important because I either have a copy if its really important, or its on YouTube. My point is, 5 GB doesn't sound like a lot, but that 5 GB doesn't count: App purchases, Movie/ TV show purchases, Music purchases, and Photo Stream. Again, I have come close, but I have never run out of space on iCloud, because I really only back up what's important. If an app is storing data and it wouldn't be the end of the world to have that app wiped, I just delete the data for that app.

Try reading the question. You basically described the opposite of what he wanted.

I want to look into this photo stream but for some reason the website doesn't want to open. I will try it later too. Now with photo stream, how do O put the pictures there? If I want to send them to someone by email, can I do that? What if other people in the house have iphones, do the connect to my photo stream? What if I want to keep it private? Maybe those are easy questions but I want as much info as I can before I do this step. Also if I go to the cloud on my phone it says my photo stream is off, if I put it on, wouldn't that be like a back up? :(( I don't really know about this, but I do thank you all for trying to help me.
