Is there a way to have a 3 Monitor setup without using the laptop Monitor? |
|
Yes you can have a 3 monitor setup without having a laptop monitor. all you do is buy 3 monitors and get a computer that can handle at least up to 3 computers on it,if it can't then it will not work. |
|
OKay what kind of laptop at you are using. Does your laptop have two or three hdmi connection on it. Or at least one VGA, HDMI and a DVI connection on it. Can you be more specific as to the laptop that you want to hook up three monitors to it. I have seen from one company that may have something which comes from Matrox themselves. But it will depend on the video out connection on your laptop itself. |

At the moment I have a 3 Multi Monitor setup and I was planing to new a new Monitor as I would not like to use the laptop Monitor. I do not like to get a new VGA-USB kit. So your kit is a single unit? I thought your kit should be two pieces? That's why you should be specific. http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/25/iogears-wireless-usb-to-vga-kit-extends-your-monitor-sans-wires/ Would mean buying a kit and usb hub. |

In that case you don't have to get a new kit. You just have to buy 2 more USB to plug in to your displays. Doesn't that work too? One VGA antenna to 3 USB antennas? USB adaptor: http://www.iogear.com/product/GUWA200/ But when I get the new Monitor where am I going to put the VGA cable? As there will be 3 VGA cable and only 1 laptop. Got 1 VGA cable into the laptop and 1 VGA cable into the VGA-USB Kit. |

Tell us your VGA-USB kit model number and make so I can Google it. http://www.maplin.co.uk/usb2.0-to-dvi-full-hd-adaptor-with-vga-and-hdmi-adaptors-218645 Shop own and could find model number. |

Yes, just like my daisy chain method, and just adjusting your display. Or buy a wireless VGA-USB adaptor http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/25/iogears-wireless-usb-to-vga-kit-extends-your-monitor-sans-wires/
