Does anyone know if FedEx smart post is cheaper than using USPS even though the packages are eventually tendered to USPS?
Was unfortunate again to order a package and have it shipped using FedEx smart post.
I live in New York and the package is shipped from Edison NJ
It was shipped out on July 5 and still has yet to get out of the status of "Arrived at FedEx location FEDEX SMARTPOST EDISON, NJ"
This happens every time with FedEx smartpost for me; the item stays with them for almost two weeks before being sent to USPS where it is finally entered into their system and the item comes the next day.
(when USPS is used directly and their cheapest shipping method is used (not including media mail), the item comes in 4-5 days)
How could any business feel it is a good idea to use such a horrible service?

I think it's more expensive for FedEx SmartPost. I had horrible experiences with it, and I don't recommend it to anyone. I think they use it SmartPost because it has FedEx's name, and it makes people feel better when they see the name FedEx, so you know they'll think they're package is being taken care of. If I were shipping the package, I'd do USPS Priority all the way, can't beat 2-3 day delivery.
