All of us use the can duster that we all buy from the stores for less than $5. Now I am wasting all of my money in buying these cans and they are very wasteful and dangerous for us. My question to you: is there an inexpensive, canless air duster that I can buy? I don't want to buy a machine that is worth over $2,000 to $4,000. I want a simple air duster that will clean the dust inside my computer and most of the dust from our electronics. Can anyone recommend a product and explain why? |

Why are you wasting money? How often are you buying these cans and cleaning out the dust? I use these cans maybe twice a year and they work fine. Microfiber cloth and air duster for the hard to reach spots. The only spots that really need the air duster is my CPU cooler and certain spots on the MB. The rest can be reached with my cloth. If you really wanted to, you could use a vacuum. |

you mean like www.canlessair.com? from the reviews that I have seen, it is too loud, the motor does not last long, the battery is not user replaceable, and it does not give a strong enough airflow, or have enough pressure to push out stuck on dirt and dust. |

Last year I purchased the Metro ED500 DataVac for about 50 or 60 bucks, and it's turning out to be one of the best investments I've made in computer maintenance. This powerful little blower has not only helped me clean out my computers, but it's helped in many other cleaning tasks around my home. Seriously, look into it. (And as an added benefit, it's made in the USA!) |

If you need a need something where you wont have to constantly buy new cans, then your only option is really a proper air compressor. The canless air devices are really only good removing loose dust from the surface of something (eg a tv) dirt that gets caked on from other factors such as heat (eg a clogged heatsink) require a smaller beam of air with a lot of pressure, and the canless systems just cant do it. PS if you go with a full on air compressor then you will likely get more pressure than what is in the canned air (just make sure you spray the air out in a random direction that is not the device you are planning on cleaning for the first second or so to make sure no water condensed in the tank. |

Why not get an oil less air compress that has a 6 gallon tank on it?? I'm using a simple 2 gallon one to clean the inside of my computer from time to time. You probably can get them on special at home depot or Wal mart. Mine that I use cost me about $130 Canadian that has also for tire inflation and for blowing the inside of the computer. And a simple nail gun as well. Can't go wrong with that for an oil less ciear compressor. I used it about 4 times a year. See something like this could help you out for cleaning your computer. http://www.homedepot.com/Tools-Hardware-Air-Compressors-Tools-Accessories-Air-Compressors/h_d1/N-5yc1vZc27p/R-203162815/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051#.US7HPaLvjjI |

You can use a small inner tube just make your own connections and pump it up with a bicycle pump. Airbrush artists used to use car inner tubes. I use an air compressor but it's a good idea to be careful and also block the rotation of the fans with a stir stick or something. |
