im building a pc for editing hd video. this build is a hackintosh with an i7 processor. i will be using imovie mostly and a little adobe cs5. eventually ill get final cut pro. my question is do i need to put alot of money into a graphics card if i wont be gaming. could someone reccomend a card for my situation. i was thinking a gtx 650ti and i need to stick to nvidia for the hackintosh requiriments. please and thank you.i would highly appreciate some reccomendations.

No need to go super high end on the GPU (I currently use aftereffects and premiere pro (with the registry hack to enable GPU acceleration for non quadro cards) and on my GTX 460, I rarely ever go above 30% GPU usage (and thats with a ton of random GPU accelerated effects on 1080p video (currently both applications do not offer enough effects that use the GPU to stress even a GTX 460. (and additional effects just drops the GPU usage due to the extra effect not being GPU accelerating and it just maxes out the CPU and lags everything.

If you are building a PC, go for a 550ti or 560, or 650 if needed, no need to go higher unless you have enough money left over from getting the fastest CPU or memory or SSD that you can afford.

So overall, do not worry about the GPU if you are not gaming.
