With companies such as Samsung introducing features and functionality exclusive to their phones rather than to Android, some are remarking that "Google has lost control of Android." As a recent Wall Street Journal headline suggests, Samsung Sparks Anxiety at Google. Do you agree? Is Google losing control of Android? |

Android is an Open source operating system. Google rollout updates to it periodically, but they don't have and never have had control over what is done with it from here on. I don't feel it fair to say they are 'losing control' as they never really had any more than they have currently, it's just that once they've got their hands on it, Samsung, HTC, etc... are innovating on top of what has already been created. |

That is how you know it is a good system... The idea of open source is to release your control to the the world, yes three is an official thread of android that Google maintains that is considered a reference to all others. If android was proprietary, it would not have been able to compete with iPhone and BlackBerry who at the time where the two big players. Or at least that is my opinion. |
