The first web browser I used was the AOL browser back in 1998, I used it to play flash games on Cartoon Network, and so on. Moving on the the 2000's, I used a various amounr of web browsers, Opera, Firefox, Internet Explorer, RockMelt, etc. I used the internet to chill with my friends, for example going on Meebo and AIM Express to talk to them. I went on MySpace for the first time in 2003, I had a MiGente, a Hi5, a Bebo, all around the 2003-2007 era. That changed around 2007, when I changed to Facebook. After that, I just use the web browser Chrome/Chromium to listen to music on YouTube, SoundCloud, Pandora etc. I chill with my friends on TinyChat and I use Omegle to meet new people. I broadcast music on Caster.fm so more people can listen to me DJ than just my friends and the people in the NYC area.

in the begining there was no web broswer to speak of you sent email to search university computer for you information all the browers used to get the info were text based lynx was popular there was no titled graphic webbrowsr there was no flash java and such until Netscape you could call it the most popular if you like how ever when you the first and only of something not much sport there ..
in the 80 Usenet and local BBS was the thing this Usenet was text forums stored on the big computer , local BBS was on the Unix shell of various people who opened there machines up to there neighbors pretty much this lead to AOL and compuserv the frist internet provider service who link more and more to these thing from around he US and over time around the world ..
this lead to the popularity OF IRC these clients all lead to the popularity of the web and change in the way we used it because everyone wanted there own website the web for a while as local provider offered personal web space was like one huge Facebook ..
the companies that had been making all the money in the 60s and 70s from the populairty of cable and CB radio seen commercial value in the internet ,Media companys start produceing BLogs or online magazines and new people were subscribed to the tech and computer mazaines most paper devilered hard version disappeared to the web ..
Geocites and other like it were born communities of cyber hoods , the web became the superhighway that lead to our virtual homes while corps kept build on the advertising of there sites with banners and free give aways.. people would actually put programs on there computer for nothing more then seeing banners on there desk top and clicking them paid 2 cents for each click in the early day people made thousands a this the online auction world was fueled by this free money ..
messangers became a popular way to communicate and message board use net fell to the way side as did IRC some , each of these ICQ , MSN AIM not only were popular each of them came with there own browsers this was the start of the browser war :)
I use the web in all these ways over the years from browser to browser Idea to Idea upand down the web (information super highway ) been a while since I have heard it called that ..
Myspace Facebook and the sort that been around since 2003 roughly were and are a picture of the future of the internet as much as they bring people together and make the world a smaller place they also shrink the web by corralling people all in one small pin point on the web in ways it is also blinding many to what is happening to the web and in other a dumbing back down of a large part of the larger internet community .. there is the group that has broke free or never got involved that keep changing with the time, I look at sties like Facebook as Sheeple zoo in a way the majority that needs to be hand held spoon fed and lead and told whats good for them they these sites have been there home and they have been fed what these groups want them to have they have for got where or what home is really about ..
