I want to hook up my Nikon D3100 to my PC sometimes so I can use it for livestreaming stuff instead of my lame webcam. This camera has a GPS, USB, HDMI, and AV/ out slots.

What kind of equipment/coords will I need?

Many modern DSLR's will offer HDMI output which can be used with an HDMI capture card to work as a webcam, only problem is that the DSLR may regularly turn off by it's self since the sensors are not designed to run non stop in live view mode.

If you need better quality video, you are better off getting an HD camcorder (while you will not get the bokeh from a large aperture, you will get continuous live view)

Another option is to get the logitech c920 (it's 1080p video beats the 1080p quality of most smartphones, even ones like the iphone 5 (when it comes to sharpness and noise levels)
