Okay, so I really like the look and feel of the iPad, but I'm turned off regarding Apple's approach to just about everything. I like the Android operating system and was wondering if there were any good tablets out there that would qualify as contenders? If so, I'd buy one in a second because I am totally bought into the Android revolution and am firmly behind Google in the battle for supremacy. Anybody seen/purchased anything good? Provide links if possible...THANKS! |

I'm kind of tired of the old "Something killer". Everyone always seems to aim at Apple, put it in the middle, as if Apple is the one to catch up to, making what's known as "me too" products, always playing the catch up game and spraying their own products in gold paint... It's like with the iPhone, it had about 18 competing "me too" products considered "iPhone Killers", about 6-8 of them were actually said to be iPhone Killers in the marketing itself... such as the Samsung Instinct. Why can't these companies just stop competing directly, and simply focus on a great product? Do something different, besides the same old add 1 more megapixel here or give it 1 more gig here... They just don't get it. There's Android tablets that are decent, I've tried a few, but you wont find an iPad experience on them. The Streak looks good for an Android device. I am hopeful and am looking forward to HP's WebOS tablet devices next year. |

Not that I know of. Doubt any of them would kill Apple's legendary iPad. |

Kmart bringing 7-inch Android tablet for $150
Kmart has this in their circular for $149.99, and other tablets are scheduled to hit the market in time for the holiday season. As I posted a few days ago, there's a $35 Linux, iPad type device coming from India. HP has their WebOS tablet. Then Windows based tablets. Just watch & wait. With all this competition, the prices are bound to drop. |

as of now not that i know of... but you could design one... |

Thte Dell Streak is the closest thing to an iPad killer at this time. I wouldn't prefer it over my iPad though. |

The closest one could be samsung galaxy tab. However, once you tried ipad, you realized that there will not be any ipad killer for the coming 2 years. I am an apple-hater, but I brought an ipad, unwillingly and happily. |

Please vote on the questions/comments!!!
So far most of them seem to be based upon old versions of the Android OS and using hardware not designed for the OS which make it run awkwardly. Sad really...
