I'm using a router (dd-wrt E2000) to bridge to my main router(2wire 5012nv), the speed is fine but the latency is so unstable, here's an example when I ping to my main router :)
1ms, 2ms, 2ms, 2ms, 981ms, 3ms, 786ms, 4ms, 3ms, 5ms, 218ms, 100ms, 5ms, 3ms, 673ms.
and so on. How do I fix this? if possible without using a wire because the cable would need to be 20m long :( and gaming sucks with this ping.

I would recommend a wire... but that is me. Wireless is basically unstable and slow to begin with. You can check to see what is interfering with the wireless by shutting off your electronic items. Microwave ovens, Bluetooth items, wireless keyboards and mice, cordless phones and more, also other things connected wirelessly to your router can all interfere with your ping. Another thing you may wish to check is other people on the same wireless channel as you are using. (If you have an android phone a great app for that is Wifi Analyzer) Things running on your PC may also be at fault... kill any unneeded tasks or programs. You can also go into your router / bridge and look for QOS / Priority settings and set the wireless bridge / remote pc for the highest priority along with the specific game that is giving you the problem. While checking Signal Strength you can also see how any walls between you and your wireless are effecting your signal as they can reflect and absorb the signal depending on the material... You can also try not using (or using) the WAN port on your "bridge" as some routers will play better with another router when not using the WAN port. It will also stop the routers(bridges) firewall from interfering with your packets by not using the WAN port. I have had some that play well this way, and others that refused to do anything that way. All in all for fastest speeds and lowest latency, use a wire. For that length it would even be cheaper for you to buy the tool and cable and ends and terminate the cable yourself.
