I live in the middle of nowhere. Well a small village with around 2000 people in it. The government are trying to get fibre optic to every home in the Highlands of Scotland which is nearly impossible in the 3 year time scale!
I have been trying to find out about 4G and people actually using it for say skype, xbox etc (Real-time applications). Does it perform well? What's the download/upload speed?
I need some real life results and testimonies to go to my council and say have a look at this instead. We have 3G up here which to be honest is sometimes better than ADSL.
Oh also, they think £5 million will get High Speed Internet to the Highlands of Scotland... EH no!
Thanks in advance people!

LTE could potentially provide you with up to 50mbps down, or more. There are plenty of "real-world" tests on the internet, but how it might actually perform where you live would depend on the equipment installed and how the network is set up. There's no telling exactly how fast it would be for you. It would, however, be faster than 7 down and .5 up, if that's what you're asking.
