That would be the 9th. Pluto doesn't count.

Nope sure didn't but it would be indeed the 9th planet now because Pluto was demoted to a dwarf planet. Also actually they are debate if that planet or well object should also be a dwarf planet. We talked about this in the our astronomy class when a student brought it up about the definition of a planet and dwarf planet.

There are only eight planets now because Pluto's status as a planet was stripped as voted by Astronomers down to a dwarf planet.

If anything, it would be the 9th planet, since Pluto was recently no longer classified as a planet.
