I have been limited to $150 for christmas this year and planned on buying a good camera for youtube. I have contemplated the ELPH-100HS which shoots 1080p and is a point and shoot so it shoots 12.1MP photos as well. Do any of you have any suggestions of something better for my price range? I would LOVE a microphone input but that doesn't seem to be very prevalent on cameras around this price range. Thanks!

If you have a lot of light, then it may be worth getting a logitech C920 and a quality USB microphone such as the audio Audio Technica AT2020 for the money. while a setup like that means that you will be tethered to your PC for all recording, it also means that you wont have a 29 minute recording time limit.
I recommend searching youtube for video samples.
Also wanted to add that the 1080p video that you will get from canon powershot will be of much higher quality. only issue is that compared to the webcam, the point and shoot cameras do not offer any advanced video controls. so doing something like pointing the camera at a your computer's display will yield poor quality as the auto exposure and gain will try to average out everything, leading to very little being properly exposed.
If you plan to record in many different locations (and not just in 1 location where a computer is located, then go for the canon powershot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzjFXZjnEag (watch in 1080p)
