I recently acquired an HP computer with an Intel core i-5 3330,6GB of RAM. The only downside is that the power supply is only capable of 100 Watts max. My old video card an Asus HD 6450 Silent would not work when i plugged it in and wouldn't let the computer boot up and would just beep. So if you can help me find a new card that would be great.

Make sure the videocard still works and double check the power supply. 100 watts seems too low for a system using a desktop CPU as the CPU can pull 77 watts, and you simply cannot have all of your power on the 12V rail. A motherboard can easily pull 20-30 watts, and then you are left with hard drives which can pull 8-10 watts of power. (then what happens if you have a DVD drive)
I don't think that is a 100 watt power supply as if it is, it would be unsafe to even use as they would have to overload it to run that system without the extra videocard.

100W seems far too low, i don't not believe you, don't get me wrong, I just can't beleieve HP would be so stupid to put something so low in a modern desktop, considering the i5 itself uses 77w. 100w will barely power the system as it is, if that's all you have there is next to nothing you can do. Sorry

First off if you are only having a spare 100W look into a new PSU which at times gives a performance increase itself. I am using a Seasonic 620W to power everything and it is very efficient and powerful.
Secondly assuming you get a a better PSU I assume you want a cost effective card that can handle enough thrown at it.
nVidia card, 650 ti - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130838
AMD Radeon HD 7750 - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202011
Both of those cards Are identical in performance ( the 650 is slightly faster ) but the 7770 is cheaper and should be enough if you are not a lot of graphically intense gaming. So remember, PSU first then get a Video Card
