This Christmas I got a new DSi XL with Pokemon Black 2 and some others. Whenever I try to connect to the Internet, it's there for about five minutes, and then I lose my connection. It's really aggravating. I've tried to find out what's wrong, but I never get the answer I'm looking for.

Get into your modem/router settings. Google the IP address default for your brand. It will bring you to the login page for that model- there's also a default login/password, again Google for it.
Once in, double-check your location & time zone/time is correct. Next, find where the channel is set to "auto" (usually) & set it to any number- doesn't matter atm, we're just trying to see if you're getting interference from something on the current channel.
Lastly, many routers allow you to "hold" a particular LAN IP address. I do this for my wireless printer- so that if it goes off for a while (no one using) & the modem resets, etc...it doesn't assign a different IP to the printer. That just causes grief when you have a bunch of people who suddenly can no longer connect to the printer (& are usually late for school/uni & are running out the door!). Assign a static IP on your LAN for your DSi XL.
Sooo yeah- those are my most common walls I've hit & how I fixed them- hope it helps!
