I have windows 7, on a 1TB HDD and a 500GB drive for backups, I wanted to buy a 8-64 GB SSD and use Intel Smart Response to boost my system, However I really can't/don't/won't reinstall Windows, and was wondering if there was another way to use an SSD as a cache and speed up my system, which it's only bottleneck is the HDD, and I'm not buying such a small drive for no reason unless I know it'll work without too much pain, I'd be willing to shift stuff around but a full format and reinstall is not happening.
Now I am willing to reinstall, currently I am running windows 7, so when I get the drive I'll install Windows 8, But I have another question, Do you need to use an Intel SSD, My mobo is compatable, so that isn't a problem, but Intel Drives are much more expensive than most other drives.
