Getting a Intel Xeon 3.6GHz SL7PH server to be used as a web server.
As you can see it is 1 core 3.6GHz. The server has 2 of these inside.
What I will be using it for is a web server. But the server will be converting video too.
Will these processors be okay for what I want them to do?

That configuration is like a P4 on steroids or a so so Core Two Duo. Since servers have much a lighter API that's quite a bit better than it sounds. I'm not sure how much traffic it would handle though.

now i have not personally but after seeing the specs and price i would say
this is a better option as according what i read
1) this is cheaper
2) it is giving you more performense per watt
3) its got 6 cors and 12 theards which means it has a calculation ability of 6 brain's so it is perfect to handel web server
4) it even has a better cache so better speed
5) it is faster as in it can handle the server better than the processor you just showed
tell me if you want me to elaborate how

to fully answer this question we will need to know what kind of load the server will be under. will it be serving up one or two webpages at a time and processing a video once a day? Or are u getting 100s of requests a minute?
