"Unanswered" questions are questions that do not have an accepted answer. Problem is some people that post a question do not go back and select an answer so that is probably why it looks like it does not change for you.

This problem stems from issues in the the way accepted answers are chosen see my question to see what I mean.

Its showing all the questions that don't have a confirmed answer yet it still will display questions that have been answered but not yet confirmed with the truly correct answer.

It is showing like that because it shows the latest thing and most question did not switch to answers yet. It is not a flaw.
