I own a 3rd generation iPad (64GB wi-fi to be exact) but I want to buy a Nexus 7, in particular the next generation in May. I don't want the Mini, I enjoy/like to have variety in my OSes (if I had a Nexus 10 instead I'd be asking should I get the Mini). I want a Nexus 7 for similar reasons why one would buy a 7 inch tablet, on the go portability etc. The question is, if I already own a 10 inch tablet is it worth buying a 7 inch tablet? Or is it just overkill and I should be donating that money to charity and stop being a capitalist pig.

Well, its your money, I'm not going to tell you how you should or shouldn't spend it. But my advice is that if you want to get a "feel" for a different platform, go for it! If you think you will use it a lot, then it may be a good investment. The bottom line is that, if you can see yourself using it often, I'd say go ahead and get it. If you think you will only use it rarely, I'd say it may be better to save that money and buy something else that you would enjoy. Hope this helps!

The nexus 7 is a pretty awesome tablet. For a tablet to carry around it's perfect. If you are already invested in your 10 inch tablet though the value of a 7 inch would be severely diminished.
I imagine a better question would be, do you have issues carrying around a 10 inch tablet?
