How Long Could You Live Without Technology

This is a unique variant on a very common question here on Lockergnome.net ("How long could you live/go without the Internet.)

The reason I think it's notable is because you are asking about living without *technology*. I don't think I could live very long without technology, but I could live without the Internet. Why the difference?

• In my daily life, I rely on the technologies that ensure I have access to safe drinking water, efficient sanitation/wastewater treatment, electrical power, access to gasoline to power my vehicle (transportation), etc.
• Every single day, I rely on medications to keep (or make) me healthy. These medications would not exist without technology involved in discovering, patenting, processing and distributing the medications to consumers.
• If I am ever in an accident or suffer a serious injury, or otherwise need medical care, I will need a great deal of technology. Having had knee surgery, sinus surgery and delivered a child, I can definitely say I wouldn't want to go through any of those without at least some form of technology.

I like to camp outdoors, but I wouldn't want to turn that into a lifestyle where I have to learn how to make fire by rubbing two flint rocks, or dried tinder, together.

Id prob go about 1/2 a day till i had to start looking for some kind of tech even if it was to look at it

I tell you now, you could live without technology. Technology (like it or not) is a luxury not a commodity. Pretty sure 60 million years ago caveman Steve wasn't checking his Facebook notifications on his smartphone or playing a bit of cod on his xbox.

I probably couldn't survive without technology for long.

Technology is not a precursor to survival- as much as I live & love it.

If all signals died from the sky & towers~ then yes, we'd have to learn to get by on our own interpersonal, human ways. Could most people used to mobile phones, texting, & Facebook survive?

Of course they could. What would happen is a temporary adjustment to "old times" where everyone would like it eventually- but this would vaporize once the power returned & internet/tech was restored.

We adjust to our environment- it's pretty simple.

Technology is my life, I cary my ipod touch everywhere along with my phone. I can go without it all for a couple hours, maybe a day at most. I find it hard to be away from the internet, or not in contact with my friends that can search stuff for me when I am on the go.

If I didn't have my iPhone, it would be easy for me to say a week or so but I don't think I could last more than a weekend.

Everybody can live without Technology But, life is much harder and annoying without it! So That's the hole point! No one died before because he didn't have an iPhone or a PC I'm not telling you that it is very easy it's hard but every one can do it! God created us strong to be able to face life without or with technology we're just too used to a live too easy.... And Technology is making People much and much week Before the car was created People walked to go to a store that was near them now they go with a car Also Everybody had to calculate Math individually and not with a calculator.... So now we can see that Technology Makes Life just Easier and doesn't make it Tolerable to live! Everybody should understand this... and everybody Should not worship Technology...

I think it would take me a little while, but I would eventually find other things to do and move on. It would just be a big lifestyle change and take a good amount of adjustment.
