  1. I have questions about how to back up my files. I have an external hard drive Maxtor, but the back up is not organized in any way that is real life support!

  2. how to get my pictures off my blackberry before I stop my contract in 7 days

  3. what happened to cause my computer to crash and wipe all my files and passwords of my computer? I have been lead to believe that it was from Facebook!

  1. What is your OS? Win7 has a backup solution built in. Some others do as well.
  2. ? (I don't know but it wouldn't let me skip #2 in a list)
  3. Nobody can tell you what crashed your computer without some information. Thousands of things could have done it. What information have you collected? Did you get an error message? What do you mean by "Crashed"? What specific behaviors is it exibiting?

thanks tsilb, I have windows xp second packet (whatever that means) business or some better upgrade than home but I was set up for this by a program for non geeks at san francisco college. That was not the best choice... My computer was entirely cleaned and the screen opened by saying welcome to your new dell computer! all my pages files and passwords. I plugged in my external hard drive and some files my important things were gone! all my passwords too..

Second Packet = "Service Pack 2"... I have no experience with Blackberries, but most PDAs have a sync tool that will let Windows detect them as an external "mass storage device" (i.e. another drive).

But it sounds like the drive was re-imaged ("formatted" or "reset to factory defaults" are appropriate analogies). To know if anything was saved, one would have to look around in the computer. Can't help much from here.

I've got to tell you. You should be taking part in one of the remote back up solutions. I'm a dedicated, die-hard Carbonite.Com user and it's saved several projects that that would have taken weeks to re-create stuff for. As far as your computer system, answer the questions above and we'll see what else we can do for you. Thanks!

yes it is sevice pack 2

I asked 5 people about the pictures from the bb to the computer. Three high end smarty geeks and they gave me different answers and I spent about 10 hours on the bb site re loading the media and still have no exchange!
