What is your main reason for using Twitter?

Just as you said.

Mainly to keep in touch with friends, but to also occasionally post links to my blog posts.

I get updates from Chris Pirillo and a few othe people, I don't have many followers but there are a couple of online friends I am able to contact and I kind of see it as a log as what I was doing on that date, although I don't really post as much as other people.

My primary reason for using Twitter has evolved over the past year and half or more that I've been using the service.

I didn't get serious about using it until I discovered a loosely organized, non-profit group -- The Space Tweep Society -- http://www.spacetweepsociety.org/ -- which formed as a result of many folks' shared interest in space exploration and science education. Finding a group of likeminded individuals such as that made the value Twitter provides me increase exponentially. I now use Twitter extensively to communicate and inform as well as to learn and stay current on news that interests me.

I use twitter to get my news on tech and whatever else is going on in the world.

I use Twitter to post all my random thoughts.

I usually use twitter for posting status updates, follow chrispirillo, get new technology news

Getting the latest (Tech) news from about 200 people..

I started as a platform to post my blog articles to now it still has the purpose but I use it now also to post what I'm doing like it was suppose to mainly because of the lack of success my blog has had.

I mainly use it to follow friends and celebrities. I don't really tweet much myself. It's just there for me to see what other people are saying and I think it works well for celebrities who want to keep their fans updated.
