Do try and recycle use your car less ect and help friends and family help the environment as well? |
|
I don't, I'm not very green. I don't believe in global warming though, it is just a normal cycle the planet has. I will recycle and stuff like that though. |
|
Yes I do! It is the Earth we live on. Without this planet we couldn't be geeks, because we wouldn't be here. |

If it is not compulsory by law then I won't do it. Simply because I do not have the time to worry about environmental issues and I do care ether as my business (and life) is ran online and you can't go eco-friendly with a website... Actually, you can. Google does ALL of its business online but is one of the greener tech companies -- http://www.google.com/corporate/green/index.html |

I encourage people to be "green" by example. At home, I recycle based on the items that are acceptable for residential recycling; at work, it is white paper and cardboard items but I bring home those items that aren't acceptable for business recycling but are acceptable for residential recycling (colored paper, newspapers, envelopes etc). I drive less, carpool, reuse plastic grocery bags, and donate clothing and household items to local charities. I lead by example because I can't change another's behavior unless that person is ready to change. I do wish more people would be consciously considerate of the environment because it does sustain all of us. |

I encourage others to be green through example since I find it far more effective (and less stressful) than getting into discussions about what someone else should or shouldn't do. My household's owned and driven a gasoline-electric hybrid vehicle since 2006 (love it! 30+ MPG SUV made by Ford) and we recycle even though our community doesn't have curbside recycling. I load up our hybrid with our recycle bins and empty them at a public recycling center and my parents house (which does have twice-weekly curbside recycling) each week. We also try to buy products that have more efficient packaging, since one of the best ways to save resources is simply not to use/consume them in the first place, versus forcing them through the recycling chain, which requires energy to transport, break down & reuse the materials. My husband bike commutes 2 to 3 times a week to/from work, mostly for exercise but also to avoid driving our gas guzzling & polluting 2001 F-150 pickup unnecessarily. We enjoy using it for its intended purpose, hauling our bicycles and camping gear and landscaping supplies, etc. We do other things but these are the most obvious examples that others see us doing. |

I would recycle my rubbish but wouldn't necessarily change where or how often I drive. I don't do any unnecessary driving as far as I can see. |
