Always debated to who was the guiltier party? The torrent supplier or the person who downloads the torrent files?

Thoughts?

You should not download it period. BUT! In my opinion if anyone is going to get in trouble than the supplier should be that person.

good question... i look at it this way if u where a drug dealer and i was a user and i asked you for a hit and u supplied it, under current US law the dealer is more at fault for supplying it to me, however i am now in possession and i do not get off free either.

long story short... both really...

Both broke the law ... Report the Torrent Site & Companies!!!

"... civil copyright infringement, the penalty is up to $100,000 per title infringed. If charged with a criminal violation, the fine is up to $250,000 per title infringed and up to five years imprisonment ..."

The supplier is at fault by suplying illegal content in the first place. However downloading it only adds to the problem, and supports those who supply.

Definitely the supplier. The downloader wouldn't have anything to download, if it wasn't for the supplier.

I think a torrent supplier is more guilty...because the supplier knows that it is illegal, but they still do it...however, a downloader...wouldn't know about whether it is illegal or not...

I think the supplier for having it in the first place and then the downloader :)

The downloader and seeder. The torrent search engines like The Pirate Bay don't actually host torrents, they just link to them.

They are both pretty guilty. But I would have to go with the supplier being more guilty. The reason being because without the supplier the downloader would have nothing to download.
