Basically one would use a dual screen set up because of workspace... a 24" monitor provides a larger area for working hence high productivity. Which set up produces high productivity?

Well i believe 1 24inch would be better because you only have one monitor (one plug one stand etc) and you dont have the annoying line in the middle of the screens. But it depends on what you need it for ie watching one movie in one screen and surf the web in an other 2 would be better,if you were to compare 2 documents 2 screens would be better however using programs like logic 2 screens mean 2 windows so you could increase productivity that way. But if you use photoshop 24 inch would be better because of resolution, workspace etc. Also if you watch a fullscreen video it would be in one screen of the two and you would see it smaller than you would if you had 1 screen. The list goes on . You just need to tells us what you are going to do with em.

Doesn't really matter, although i do recommend getting dell monitors rather than apple monitors, if you're on a mac, then you don't need apple monitors, and they are really expensive, and they not the most special thing in the world.

There is a thing being created by ATI, called Eyefinity. It's not out yet I don't believe, but it'll allow the usage of 3 monitors. I'd go with the dual 12" monitors and stick with that, until Eyefinity comes out, then try to purchase that and a third 12" monitor.

Well i prefer dual monitors. but if my only choice was dual 15's or one 24. i would pick the 24. but if i had it my way i would use 2 30 inch monitors or even 4. after using multiple monitors it just feels weird when they aren't there.
