yeah, and in text books also we dont get to read anything about apple or OS X for that matter, its when i grew up and used google i got to know about the platform :D, its simply bec apple has little or no presence here and no availability of discount deals for education, plus you know what kind of schools we have in India, all are profit making machines with no focus on better learning or providing better infra for students!

In my high school. the teachers each have a laptop and they got a choice between using a Mac or using a Windows PC. Most teachers use PCs however they are a some that choose Macs. Also in my school they are entire labs full of Macs and entire labs full of Dell PCs so it is really a choice for the teacher what lab they want to use.

The only reason my High School has Macs is because the it department didn't maintain the Windows XP PCs and some rich benefactor donated them, and most narrow minded computer illiterate people don't know how to use the PCs, and having the macs are cool and the "macs dont get viruses" stigma

Myself personally I remember when I was in High school, They had maybe a couple of apple ][+ and PC's But that was going way back in the early to mid 80's. With Dos for either of them. But when I went to college. Depending on which program that you were taking like computer programming for example they would have you use a windows based PC. If you were dealing with photography, or dealing with Cinematography they were using Mac. I guess it will depends on what your needs are to use either of them on a particular course. I think even my old College is still using a Vax VMS to keep archives of students and their marks. I remember when I was going back in 2002/2003 they had to un-archive my old student ID which I still remember to this very day for some strange reason.

i m not in USA, but as a all in one computer i think imac is an excellent choice and offers much more convenience then buying build to assemble hardware, apple also has discounts for education customers so that may also be a factor, infact students get to use better stuff is always better, so go apple!

first most schools dont use just one over the other , its mostly a matter of cost though its education which needs to be well rounded in relity they will have all platforms around because to be useful in this world you have to be able to use not just mac or windows or linux but all plat forms ..

the school does not support one over the other what so ever its not a contest they are trying to peopair for real world its not a contest ..
