Why is the iphone 3GS 3 times more expensive in the UK than the US?

For a time we had to pay the most on Itunes. A lot of people were annoyed about that too.

I think the average UK salary is about 30 to 40 thousand pounds a year so their target group can most probably can afford it.

Just a wild guess at the reason.

Them prices for the phones in the US are to get the phone with a fixed term contract. It is a similar price here in the UK for the phones on contract.

£449 is the price of a iPhone with a contract at around £30 a month for 18 months.
