Is there a way to switch all the function commands with the f1-f12 keys. I have an dell inpiron 1545 and my f1-f12 are under the function key. Is there a way to switch certain key that i dont use as much so i can use th f1-f12 keys?

i do not think so, they are programed in by the manufacture, you should be able to use the fn key to select or deselect if you want it to do what the manufacture had it set for. excuse me if i'm mistaken but i think that is what your talking about, correct me if i'm wrong

Right. Function keys send a custom scan code to the system which is then picked up via a custom implementation. There is no standard, and therefore they are not interchangeable.

On my laptop there are options to change them in the BIOS.
