I am interested in making a new website and i currently have Dreamweaver, but i'm wondering if there are any better applications out there available for mac or pc? |

It's been awhile since I've used Dreamweaver, but it's a very solid application that grants the ability to focus on the actual layout and visual presentation of your underlying code or switch to hand-coding (my preference and focus.) Afterall, the vast majority of websites can be created using nothing more than the most basic of text editors. All of the various apps that have been created serve definite needs and niches, but ultimately, you need to find the one that best suits your skills and workflow. I don't currently develop commercial web applications or maintain corporate web or Intranet pages, but I still maintain a slew of websites for my small business. For my needs, I spend most of my time in BBEdit and TextWrangler on my MacBook Pro. I may even have a copy of Dreamweaver still, but it's not installed and most of my websites at this point are heavily database-driven to simplify my life a bit. |

I enjoy using dreamweaver but often i like to focus more on coding, so prefer a liter program. The free editors are normally the best for this like Notepad++ when i really want to focus on code. |
