I'm building a new Ubuntu Server. I'm wanting it to have RAID. I'm not very familiar with RAID cards and what works well with Linux. I only need it to work with two SATA hard drives so I think RAID0 is all I need. I'm looking for something that works automatically and will last a long time. Price is not a big deal, but the cheaper the better. |

promise raid controllers are very good for their price you can get them that support standard ATA or SATA or even SCSI. also raid 0,1 ,10 ,5 and jbod on the controller gives you the best options. |

Well if you only want it for 2 disks, you dont have to buy a new controller. My asus mothermother P5QD turbo has "drive xpert" support. It provides me with 2 special sata slots which work together as RAID0 or RAID1. I think most asus motherboards support that feature. |
