Microsoft Word, simply because that's what I already have. I'm better off using something I know well enough to use, rather than trying to learn Pages. Also, I have a Windows OS, so sticking with a brand makes it easier to have something serviced, should that ever be needed.

You can learn Pages in a few minutes.

I do not have a Mac, so I have no ability to use Pages. If I had a Mac, I would probably get iWork since it is an Apple product. No matter how easy it is to learn something, I already know how to use Word, so that is was I will stick with.

By very very far,

Pages.

I do all my page layout work in Pages, because it's easy and powerful. Professionals use InDesign or QuarkXpress, but Pages does everything I need, with ease.

If all I want is to take a few notes, I use TextEditor.

Besides, Word is slow, buggy and hard to use.

You have said the same thing I have said, except on the opposite side. Word is not difficult to use, at least not for me. It is all a matter of opinion.

Pages to me is a better version of Word combined with a better version of Publisher.
