what computer did you start with, and what do you have now?

i started with windows 98? i have no idea because it was so long ago. now im runing my toshiba satelite on windows 7

• I'm used to having a desktop and laptop computer, but my desktop computer (Dell XPS) died last summer so I'm stuck with a laptop as desktop replacement until I figure out where I want to blow my money and when.

I started out being a PC user, than I got a Powermac G4 (I'm now on an iMac), and it is very unlikely that I'll be switching back to a PC.

My first computer was a Windows 98 running on an HP machine. Now I'm on a DELL running Windows Vista Home Basic SP2.

I had an I386 packard bell with windows 95

My first real machine was (circa 1977) a Cromemco Z-2 with a Zilog Z-80A CPU that ran at either 2 or 4 MHz, has 64k of RAM, TUART, dual 8" DS/DD floppy drives, CP/M 2.2, Soroc IQ 120 terminal and a variety of printers over time. The Z-2 was a heavy rack-mount enclosure that supported up to 22 S-100 cards and weight close to 50 lbs, more with cards in place. The first Cromemco catalog PDF has the hardware in it. I don't know the Soroc is in anything that I've scanned so far...

As for today, the latest is a Core i7 equipped HP laptop with average specs such as 4 GB, 2x320 GB HDs, 17" display, etc.

I started out with the Commadore64 computer, and now I have an iMac. The commadore64 lasted until the mid 1990's before the disk drive finally broke. Instead of letting me fix it, my brother just threw it in the garbage :(
