I have to say that the best that i have ever had was with logitech, my speaker stand broke, they didnt have any replacements, and even though i was out of my warrenty period (by a lot) i didnt think i would get anything done now, so left it, a few weeks later they sent me a brand new (hadnt even been released in the UK at the time) G9x gameing mouse!

Every time my cellular/mobile contract expires, I call customer service and get what they call "Save Promotions". That is to say, special offers available only to customers who are out of contract to prevent us from leaving altogether. Such great deals include free mobile to mobile, free nights and weekends, and free anytime minutes on top of the base plan. If you're willing to renew your two-year contract, you can usually get free phones.

The CSR gets points for "saving" a customer. I get bonuses. It's a win-win.

During the Vista/Longhorn beta program, I bought three of the same video card, listed on the WDDM HCL and guaranteed to support Aero Glass. Alas, they did not. I filed a bug.

Three days later, ATI sent me a new driver.

Aw; they didn't send you three new cards? =[

(Jun 10 '10 at 10:19) strager strager's gravatar image

No, the problem was that these new cards weren't supported properly. They fixed it quickly and proactively sent the fix to me.

I called my ISP a few years back because my new Dell wouldn't connect to the internet. Even though he wasn't a Dell employee he still helped alot. He actually Googled it and helped me for around 30 minutes until I got the problem fixed.

See the series: The Credit Card Concierge Experiment: How to Make Visa Obey Your Every Desire. (There are three parts total.)

I'm not sure you'd call it "customer service" with respect to a product, but they definitely do "serve their customer".

Probably Apple. I had purchased a refurbished white MacBook and it had come with the tiniest little crack in it and I called them and they replaced it, really fast, with a new edition, released a couple of days before, Nvidia MacBook. I couldn't believe it. I had problems with my previous Dell laptop and the most they did was send me a CD of a BIOS update that I already had installed! Ollie =]

Tell you the truth I would have to think on that one a while, cause I have bad luck with customer service, I always think "Companies are not what the once were". But reading what you guys said gives me hope.

Same here. Every single company I've dealt with, I've had a hard time.

I've had pretty bad support most of the time. I'm the one giving good support to people LOL. Probably my ISP, Roadrunner. They are pretty good support people, at least on the chat room option.

One time i called my Web Hosting company to find out why my MySQL database wasn't working. They worked with me, and helped me track it down to a PHP script i created. Thats back when i was new to Web Design :P Thats good customer support!

I called up Internode in relation to technical support for a Mac that should have been connected to the internet through a router, and they told me they don't support Macs ;) Yep, that was the best tech support call I've ever had.
