why does the fan on my xbox 360 stay on when it's off?

hi guys recently I've noticed that when i turn off my xbox 360 console the cooling fans remain on, the thing i don't get is they don't turn off at all unless you press the button to turn it back on and then press it again to turn it off again? is this normal or does it mean there is something wrong with my console? please help I'm worried.

2	I'd imagine the fans remain on until they have done their job and cooled down the chips inside, I don't have an xbox myself but I'd imagine this to be the case, also ensure the console is well ventilated don't block fan exhaust outlets. answered Jun 10 '10 at 18:53 Headwards 4.5k●66●88●126
