Why doesn't GMail IMAP work on Ubuntu's Evolution mail client?

I want to use Evolution to check my GMail in Ubuntu, but each time it tries to connect to the IMAP server (imap.gmail.com:993) it refuses to connect.

Do you know of anything I could try to get it to work?

Yes, IMAP is enabled in my GMail account.

0	Have you tried entering your full gmail address as the username? It won't work without a full address. Also check your password - I know it is simple but it can save a lot of time if it is just that answered May 31 '10 at 19:23 ne0 540●1●8●12

to add a line break simply add two spaces to where you would like the new line to be.
