How much RAM is "too much"? Obviously there are many systems around these days that don't have enough RAM, but on the other end of the spectrum, some people go way overboard. Call it future-proofing, call it going crazy, but people do it. Personally I have 8GB and haven't gotten past 6GB used. |

I think 4GB are enough for most of the people. Passing over that is just wasting money. |

Depends on the user I think for the acarge user 8 gb is enough to last them the next 4 or 5 years |

Depending on your needs 2-3 GB is enough. If you do anything with music creation you should have at least 3-4 GB of ram. It's important to know that you cant have more that 4 GB in a 32-bit system. If you're using a 64-bit OS you can have basically unlimited amount of ram (about 16 billion) |

In my system, I have 1GB DDR Ram. I never use 900MB Ram. What I do on my system is go on the Internet, listen to music, watch movies, and program software. I am not a gamer. Windows 7 runs really fast on my system with 1GB Ram. My Specs: 120GB hard drive 1GB DDR Ram Nvidia 5200FX 256MB Graphics Intel Pentium 4 2.50Ghz |

This is going to be funny when we read this next year. Everyone is saying 4gb is plenty, 32gb is way to much. I bet 8gb will be std in laptops upgradeable to 16gb. but no 8gb RAM is sufficient now. |

I have 6GB which is more then I need as I am running a 32bit Windows 7. I have it if I ever want to run another OS along side Windows 7 as I have done before. |
