Since the topic of favorite Doctors was presented in another thread, I figured I'd bring this up for fellow Doctor Who fans to ponder. Let's say it's a few years from now and current Doctor Matt Smith is retiring from the role. You're the person who gets to make the call to offer a new actor the part. Who would be your next choice for... Who? (Of course, the first person you'd pick might not want to/be able to take the role, so you've probably got a few in mind just in case.) A few that would be on my list: Richard Coyle, Stephen Fry, Billy Connolly, Adrian Edmondson, Bill Nighy. Simon Pegg would be in there somewhere, but he's already said he would never want to play the Doctor because he enjoys watching the show too much! Sure, he's already played a villain on the show, but so did Colin Baker before he took on the role! |

Well when i first started Doctor Who I never thought i would be this into it. Christopher Eccleston got me started. David Tennant got me hooked, And with Matt Smith i was like What the .... but he kinda convinced me that he was worthy. but it i had to pick the new doctor lets for an american version of the doctor i would say Jesse Eisenberg but perfer Zachary Levi the doctor is kinda out of it. |

An American has never been cast as The Doctor. Keeping that in mind, I'd like to see Nicholas Hoult in the role. However, also to stay canon, unless a rabbit is pulled out of the proverbial hat, the next incarnation is the last because the Doctor only has 12. I seriously think they find a way around that but if that's to stay canon, the next incarnation must be an older man because River Song has previously referred to a future doctor as being older than David Tennant's doctor. So if they stick to the 12 doctor canon, the next doctor has to be older. |

Here's a weird thought... oddly enough he's currently appearing on Law and Order:UK with former companion Freema Agyeman, but Jamie Bamber. We'd seen considerable amounts of his dramatic side with BSG, but I think it would be fun to see him cut loose in a role such as The Doctor. If you're looking for truly bizarre, have the Tardis land in Africa a few 100 million years ago, and get a companion with an American accent from another portion of the galaxy altogether who's completely freaked out because this blue box appears out of nowhere, Matt Smith comes out, she goes to investigate, freaks out some more, shoots him and he regenerates into Jamie Bamber which really throws her for a loop. Yeah, even though everyone's rolling their eyes, think about it, The Doctor could show her what this world they landed on turned into, and it could even go as far as giving a tangible answer to one of the world's great mysteries: Just what the frak happened to/with Starbuck? Ok, tis a thought. lol. |

I'd go for Stephen Fry or Craig Ferguson. I think they would both do a fine job. |
|
It Should be Chris Pirillo That would be funny and Maybe Mouse From #Chris hehe that would be good And Simon Cowell |
|
Johnny Depp would be a perfect doctor IMO, although that may never happen. |
|
OMG Stephen Fry as the Doctor would be Badass :D I would say Bill Bailey Just for the LOLz he was cracking me up last night on QI! |
|
I'd cast James May, because he is already a bit weird (as is The Doctor). Plus it would mean that two of my favourite shows would collide - Top Gear and Doctor Who (not that it hasn't happened already). |

If it was Stephen fry it would be awesome. Lets tell the BBC to get him now! |
