I am thinking about buying a new TV set for my bedroom but I'm not sure whether to get an LCD or an LED TV. What do you recommend and why?

I would recommend not going to LED currently and wait out until LED TV prices come lower later on. LED are great with power and color, but the price is just too high right now.

Yes defiantly, I have one for my TV and one for my computer. They are very high quality and they last long. And unlike plasma they don't burn the TV.

Led and LCD TV's are in the same family. LED TV's just have their back-light changed out for LED .

There are two different type's of LED TV's ones that are dimming back-light. Those TV's take as much power as a plasma TV.

Then you have LED TV that are side lit which use less power than an LCD of the same size.

if im not mistaken, and LED TV is just that the back light is lit by LED lights, and are more energy effecent then CCFT screens, however people have said the color and contrast are better with a LED tv, me personally i dont see a difference

yes and no. Yes the pic is better than standard LCD with a back light, but the power consumption is 4 times as much. Also plazma give better picture but at sea level or close to it the gas or plasma filled area remains stable, but since I live at 5500 feet above sea level plasma can leak or boil away after 2 to 5 years so plasma here is no benjo.
