I had two contusions - One on my lower back, one in the gut. A contusion is a Hematoma of the skin in which a whole bunch of capillaries in a small area are burst all at the same time. Took two days before I could walk at a normal pace, 2-3 weeks before the pain went away. |

When I was 10 years old, I had to have a catheter stuck into my you know where, and the urine was crystallized so poking at it almost pierced the skin. They did this all while I was awake. But it's a good thing because now I can go to the bathroom in school any time I want. Doctors orders override school rules! And maybe even the law! =p |

Toss up between gallbladder surgery and kidney stones. Childbirth was a walk in the park compared to both. I had my gallbladder removed many MANY years ago, when I was 20. They didn't DO laser surgery back then, so I was cut all the way from one side of my stomach to the other. They have to cut through muscles and such. The pain from that was really bad, but not nearly as bad as when they pulled the drain tube out. It's left in for a few days... and things start attaching to it inside your body. Needless to say, I threw up all over the nurse when she yanked it out and then blacked out. It hurt THAT badly.. and I was on a morphine drip still at the time!! I've had seven kidney stones. Two of them wound me up in the emergency room, due to blocking things and not moving on their own. One of them.. well, I won't go in to details. Suffice to say I hadn't been able to urinate for about eleven hours straight b/c it was blocking the passageways. Talk about pain. I thought my insides were going to explode. Ugh. However... the pain of losing my brother after his battle with cancer tops all physical pain by far. The pain of having to tell my then 16 yr old daughter that her best friend had been killed nearly killed me, as well. The pain of losing MY best friend in a car accident when I was young was horrible. The worst pain I have ever felt in my life was when my heart was ripped apart by the person I thought was the ONE to last a lifetime. That wound is open and bleeding, and I'm not sure how the hell to get beyond that stage. I'm trying, though. :) |

The worst pain I ever felt is when I broke my arm. I was in so much pain that they had to give me tons of pain killers. never again will i break anything! |
|
I haven't had much pain in my life. I'd have to say my worst pain in my life was when I >ALMOST< broke my wrist by crashing my bike and slamming my hand down sideways on the pavement to break my fall. I had to wear a wrist brace for a week because it hurt to move. I respect that everyone here has almost definitely experienced more pain then that. I feel lucky. :) |

When a nurse at a hospital took a needle and dug into my skin. Dug around!! |

my heart attack for sure. I have had a kidney stone and the heart attack was by far worse. for the heart attack two words, morphine drip. for the kidney stone vicadin, big difference. all that other stuff aint nothing. |
